BACKGROUND FOR THIS EPISODE

(In Order of Appearance)

NEW TESTAMENT OF THE BIBLE:
  • Ephesians 6:17 – Take the helmet of salvation. And, use the sword of the Spirit. (This is the message of God.)
  • John 17:4 – I have brought You glory on the earth. I finished the work which You gave me to do.
  • John 17:11-13 –  I am not in the world anymore, but my apostles are in the world. I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your Name, the Name which You have given to me. May they be united, as we are. 12When I was with them, I was always keeping them in Your Name, the Name which You have given to me. I have protected them. Not one of them was lost—only the child of destruction. (The Scripture must come true.) 13Now I am coming to You. I am saying these things in the world, so that these men may have my complete joy in them.
  • John 17:24, 26  “Father, You loved me before the world was created. You have given me glory. I want them to see it. I want them to be with me, where I will be…26I revealed Your Name to them and I will reveal it. I want them to have Your love in them, the same love that You have for me. I want to be in them, too.”
  • John 18:1 – After Jesus had said these things, he and his followers went out across Kidron Creek, where there was a garden. They went into the garden.
  • Luke 22:39 – Jesus went out of Jerusalem to Olive Mountain. His followers went with him. (Jesus often went there.)
  • Hebrews 4:15 – Our High Priest can sympathize with our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way as we are, but he never sinned!
  • Hebrews 3:14-15 – If, to the very end, we hold tightly to the confidence we had at the beginning, then we are partners with Christ. 15Again: “If you hear God’s voice today, don’t let your hearts become stubborn, as you did during the rebellion.” (Psalms 95:7-8)
  • Mark 14:32 – Then they went to a place called Gethsemane. Jesus said to his followers, “Sit here while I go pray.”
  • Matthew 4:8-9 – Next, the Devil took Jesus to a very tall mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory which was in them. 9The Devil said to Jesus, “I will give you all these things, if you will only bow down to worship me.”
  • Luke 2:52 –Jesus grew taller and continued to learn more and more. People liked him, and he pleased God.
  • John 7:5 – (Even Jesus’ brothers did not believe in him.)
  • Mark 14:32 – Then they went to a place called Gethsemane. Jesus said to his followers, “Sit here while I go pray.”
  • Matthew 26:37-38 – He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with him. He began to feel sad and depressed. 38Then he said to them, “My soul is full of sorrow; I am going to die! Stay here and be watchful with me.”
  • Luke 22:41 – Then Jesus went off about 50 yards awayk from them. He kneeled down and began to pray, 42
  • Matthew 26:39 – Then Jesus went forward a short distance and bowed down to pray. He said, “My Father, if it is possible, take this cup of suffering away from me—but what You want is more important than what I want.”
  • Hebrews 5:7 – During Jesus’ human life, he offered prayers to God. Once, with strong cries and tears, Jesus asked God to save him from death. (God could have done it, too, but He didn’t.) God listened to Jesus because Jesus was devoted to God.
  • Romans 6:23 – The pay you get for sinning is death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
  • Mark 14:35-42 – Then Jesus went ahead a short distance and fell down on the ground. He was praying that, if possible, this time might pass away from him. 36He continued to pray, “Father, dear Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup of suffering away from me, but what You want is more important than what I want.” 37Then Jesus came and found them sleeping. He said to Peter, “Are you asleep, Simon? Were you not strong enough to watch one hour? 38Watch and pray for strength against yielding to temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” 39Again Jesus went away. He prayed the same prayer. 40Once more, Jesus came and found them sleeping. Their eyes were very tired. The men didn’t know what to say to him. 41Jesus came back the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? That’s enough! The time has come. Listen! I am being handed over into the hands of sinful men. 42Get up, we must go. Look! The one who turned against me is near!”
  • Matthew 26:53-54 – Don’t you think I could call on my heavenly Father for help!? He would bring more than twelve legionsg of angels here! 54But how could the Scriptures come true, if this arrest did not happen!?”
  • Romans 1:26-27 – This is why God handed them over to immoral, unnatural urges. Even their females exchanged their natural sexual drives for unnatural ones. 27In the same way, males stopped feeling natural sexual drives for females and burned up in their lust for one another—males with males. They do what is shameful, but they must receive in themselves the consequences for this error.
  • I Corinthians 6:9-11 – Surely you must realize that evil people will not enter God’s kingdom!? Don’t be fooled. These are the kind of people I’m talking about: They commit sexual sin. They worship false gods. They commit adultery. They are perverts. They are homosexuals. 10They steal. They are greedy. They are drunkards. They say terrible things about people. They rob people. People like this won’t enter the kingdom of God. 11Some of you were like that, but you were washed of sin and made holy. You have been made right with God by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the Spirit of our God.
  • Luke 22:43 – Then an angel from heaven appeared. The angel was sent to help Jesus be stronger.
  • Matthew 22:13 – When the king said to the servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet and throw him outside in the dark. In that place there will be screaming and grinding of teeth.’
  • I Peter 2:14 – They are sent by the Emperor to punish people who do wrong and to praise people who do right.
  • I Timothy 2:6 – Christ gave himself for everyone. He was the price. That was God’s proof given at the right time.
  • Revelation 19:11-16 – I saw heaven opened. Look! There was a white horse! The person who was riding on it was called Faithful and True. He judges fairly. He makes war. 12His eyes are like the flame of a fire. There are many crowns on his head. He has a name written on him. He is the only one who knows it. 13He is dressed with a robe dipped in blood. His name is The Message of God. 14The armies in heaven are following him on white horses. They are dressed in pure, white, fine linen. 15A sharp sword comes out of his mouth. He uses it to hit the nations. He will shepherd them with an iron rod. He will crush down the grapes of Almighty God’s angry punishment in the winepress. 16He has this name written on his robe and on his thigh: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
  • II Corinthians 5:21 – Christ never sinned, but God caused him to become sin for us, so that we could be right with God in Christ.
  • Mark 14:40 – Once more, Jesus came and found them sleeping. Their eyes were very tired. The men didn’t know what to say to him.
  • Luke 22:44 – Jesus was full of deep concern; he struggled hard in prayer. Sweat dripped from his face to the ground as though he were bleeding.l
  • John 8:44 – You come from your father, the Devil. You want to do the sinful things that your father wants. The Devil was a murderer from the very beginning. He does not stand with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he is only talking naturally, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
  • Galatians 5:19-21 – Human nature does things which are wrong. These are clear: committing sexual sin; not being pure; having orgies; 20worshiping false gods; practicing witchcraft; hating people; making trouble; being jealous; becoming too angry; being selfish; making people angry with each other; causing divisions; 21envying others; getting drunk; having wild parties; and other such things. I warn you now, as I warned you before: The people who do these things will not inherit God’s kingdom.
  • Romans 6:23 – The pay you get for sinning is death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
OLD TESTAMENT OF THE BIBLE:
  • Leviticus 18:23 – “ ‘You must not have sex with an animal and make yourself “unclean” with it. Also, a woman must not have sex with an animal.q It is not natural.r
  • According to Harvard Medical School and “Does God Exist,” research has traced back the origination of AIDS to a woman having sexual relations with an African Green Monkey.
  • Psalm 15:1-3 – <A psalm of David.> O Yahweh, who can stay in Your Sanctuary?aWho is allowed to dwell on Your holy mountain? 2Only a person who is honestand who does what is right. He must speak the truth in his heart. 3He must not tell lies about others. He must do no wrong to his friends. He must not gossip against his neighbors.4He must despise vile people,
  • Isaiah 29:15-16 – How horrible it will be for those who go to great lengthsto try to hide their plans from Yahweh. How horrible it will be for those who do their deeds in darkness. They think that no one will see them or will know what they are doing. 16You are confused! You think that the clay is equal to the potter!v  You think that an object can tell the person who made it:“You did not make me!” That is like the pot telling its maker: “You don’t know anything!”
